Who We Are
Johnny L. Woodruff is a native and life-long resident of the State of Tennessee born April 24, 1958, in Union City. He earned his B.A. (Biology) degree from Southern Adventist University in 1983. After a number of years as vice-president of Woodruff Enterprises, Inc., he began his legal studies in 1991 at Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis graduating with the J.D. degree in 1994. While in law school his achievements included: Finalist and Best Oral Advocate, Memphis State 1993 Mock Trial Competition; 1993-1994 Moot Court Board Associate Justice - Mock Trial; Team Lead Attorney and Regional Finalist, 1994 National Mock Trial Competition; Author: Certiori to In Re BFP: The Eve of Decision to a Dozen Years of Durrett Conflict - Will Resolution of the Issue Solve the Real Problem? 24 Mem. St. U. L. Rev. 773 (1994).
Admitted to practice before the Supreme Courts of Alabama (1997), Arkansas (1995), Florida (2009), Georgia (1997), Kentucky (2006), Mississippi (1995), Tennessee (1994) and Texas (2006)(currently Inactive Status and not practicing); the Federal courts of the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Tennessee; the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas; the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia; and Northern District of Alabama; he has represented clients in legal matters and trials over much of the southeastern United States.
He practiced law in Memphis, Tennessee from 1994 until 1996 when he returned to Chattanooga. He has continued practicing law there until the present time.
His office opened in 2004.
